NEW GLOBAL CAMPAIGN, THE FACE OF CHANGE, LAUNCHES AHEAD OF HISTORIC COP28 HEALTH DAY TO TACKLE THE CLIMATE-DRIVEN HEALTH CRISIS

DUBAI, Dec. 2, 2023 – Ahead of a historic, first-ever Health Day during the 28th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai, Forecasting Healthy Futures—in partnership with TIME CO2—announces the launch of a bold and ambitious global campaign - The Face of Change - that centers health as the human face of climate change.

OUR MISSION

PROMOTING PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS TO GLOBAL HEALTH CHALLENGES WORSENED BY CLIMATE CHANGE

Forecasting Healthy Futures strives to protect and expand global health gains, in the context of climate change, with an emphasis on most vulnerable communities worldwide. We approach that mission by inspiring commitment to mitigation action in the public and private sectors, promoting adaptation investment in health systems and solutions to address the impact of global warming, and accelerating innovation to make healthcare systems more resilient to climate threats tomorrow.

About Forecasting Healthy Futures

THE WORLD NEEDS NEW GLOBAL HEALTH SOLUTIONS IN THE CONTEXT OF CLIMATE CHANGE.

Despite a deepening consensus among scientists and the medical community, and abundant modeling exercises that describe the increasing burden of climate change on human health, not enough is being done to develop real adaptative strategies and practical solutions that anticipate and avoid the worst health consequences of climate change on vulnerable populations.

FORECASTING HEALTHY FUTURES WAS LAUNCHED TO ACCELERATE INVESTMENT IN NEW SOLUTIONS.

In 2020, Malaria No More convened a coalition of global health and technology partners committed to addressing the intersection of health and climate through data-driven models; shining a light on the intersection of health and climate; and elevating it on the international agenda, mobilizing additional resources for its advancement.

Institute for Health Modeling and Climate Solutions

The Institute for Health Modeling and Climate Solutions is a virtual center of excellence with the mission to help countries accurately anticipate climate-driven changes in malaria transmission and direct their control measures with more precision.

The Institute for Health Modeling and Climate Solutions links experts around the world, advancing the multidisciplinary science of designing increasingly sophisticated early warning systems for malaria prediction. Those systems unlock the potential for precision programming and cost-effective disease elimination; paving the way for successful elimination despite the complexity introduced by climate change.
